Our Body Positive Boudoir Campaign came together because two women are passionate about body positivity.
Encouragement.
Loving our own skin.
And appreciating the beauty of others - no matter what form that comes in!
This will NOT be a 'wham bam, thank you Mam' kind of project.
We are in it for the long haul.
We have designed and planned five shoots over the course of one year.
Every shoot will be put together by several very beautiful and talented women...

Kelly - The Loft Hair Studio Stony Plain (hair)
Shalan - YShal / Younique (makeup)
Gloria - Olde Back Roads (outdoor studio & props)
Now & Forever Photo Studio (indoor studio)
And not forgetting our 'models' - who are wonderful women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities and backgrounds.
We want to show that beauty does not come in one size - one shape - one colour!
Beauty is not only on the outside either.
It's not just the perfect story or a perfect life.
It's about working through the bad stuff - and coming out the other end and being able to smile about it - and thank your body for getting you through it!
This project will be a journey - and not just for the ones putting it together.
Not just for the lovely ladies who have volunteered their beautiful bodies and stories.
It's for every woman out there!
Because every single one of us deserves to know that the woman who stand around her - love her even if she's just the women standing behind her in the line!
Our Body Positive Boudoir Campaign is about loving ALL women and loving ourselves as we are!
When we think about beauty - what comes to mind?
I hope you think YOURSELF!
Your sister!
Your elderly neighbour!
Society makes us think of the tropical model on the beach - but we want to redirect those thoughts.
It doesn't matter if you are 16 or 60!
It doesn't matter if you are tiny or tall - curvy or thin - these are all examples of who we are as women
Beautiful women!
This only lightly touches on what the word beauty really is.
As much as this campaign is about loving ourselves - it's about accepting others as well!
We are all guilty of judging the next person...
"That skinny girl needs to start eating!!"
"She needs to lay off the cakes!"
But it's not just about the size of a woman either.
Women get judged for not making an effort - or even for making too much of an effort!
Those that take the time to dress nice and put on makeup "have too much time on their hands and are trying to prove something!"
Those that wear pyjamas or sweatpants to the grocery store are "lazy and don't care" - but maybe she is just having a relaxing, comfortable day - or maybe that is just her style and that's just fine too!
ACCEPT AND BE ACCEPTED!
Let's start working on the relationship we have with ourselves - so that we can reflect better on others.
